Houston Karachi Sister City Association (HKSCA), dedicated to fostering strong ties between the communities of Houston and Karachi. At HKSCA, we are committed to making a meaningful impact through our Student Scholarship Program, aimed at supporting aspiring Pakistani students in their pursuit of higher education from Karachi and across Pakistan, by providing scholarships and other support. We strive to empower talented individuals to achieve their academic goals and contribute positively to their communities in Pakistan.

SCI 2024 ANNUAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP SUMMIT.

Join us from August 4-10, 2024, in Washington, D.C. for an unforgettable week of leadership training, diplomacy insights, and cultural activities.

Throughout the week, students will be staying in dormitories at American University, allowing for students to experience university culture.

Chartered by an act of Congress in 1893, AU is a campus that offers more than 100 academic programs to over 14,000 students. Designated as a national arboretum, AU’S carbon neutral campus is conveniently located in Spring Valley, an urban residential neighborhood of Washington, DC, only a short distance from some of the cities most historic sites.

Students aged 14-18 will engage in hands-on activities, explore the vibrant city of Washington, D.C. and participate in a Diplomacy Simulation led by the U.S. Department of State, National Museum for American Diplomacy!

Age Range: Applicants must be between the ages of 14 and 18 years old at the time of the Youth Leadership Summit.

Affiliation with Sister City Organization: Participants must be actively associated with a Sister City Organization. This could include being a member, volunteer, or participant in programs facilitated by the organization.

Demonstrated Interest in Citizen Diplomacy: Applicants should have a genuine interest in citizen diplomacy and a demonstrated commitment to fostering international understanding and cooperation.

Leadership Potential: Candidates should exhibit leadership potential and a willingness to engage in activities that promote leadership development.

Diversity and Inclusion: The selection process aims to be inclusive and diverse. Candidates from various backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives are encouraged to apply.

Parental/Guardian Consent: For participants under 18 years old, parental or guardian consent is required for participation in the summit.
